ORIGINAL BIO:
Most band members have been playing together since 1986 and in recent years have performed extensively in the studio and on the stage together. Weave’s members have opened for such acts as Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Fields of the Nephilim and The Posies; have released a number of cassette EP’s and one full-length LP/CD as Autumn Cathedral. The name “The Furies” was first chosen for the lineup and was subsequently tossed due to it already having been in use; Weave was chosen as a more suitable replacement. Now, a little over a year after reforming as Weave with a new lineup, new ideas and new songs — the band has come a long way, writing some of the most exciting and beautiful music in their history.
With their new four-piece lineup intact, Weave’s first task was to record their Demo and get airplay and write-ups in various magazines. The tape (under the name “The Furies”) has since received outstanding reviews in their local areas: (Cups [SF] — “Dense, deep, often gorgeous demo tape . . . “; City Revolt [SJ] — “You’ll be sure to hear this one soon on Live 105 . . . “; and has even earned them interest from as far as Chicago. In the meantime, Weave has been constantly writing material and intensively rehearsing in San Francisco solidifying their repertoire and sound. The band is now setting up live shows which promise to be an exciting visual and audio experience; and are planning to heavily play the San Francisco Bay Area and southern California club circuits in 1994. Weave’s first show (as “The Furies” at Red Light District in San Jose received an enthusiastic crowd response and an approving mention in City Revolt Magazine. Weave have finished recording their second EP (which includes live material) due for release in August of 1994.
Weave are, at present, actively seeking a recording contract to fulfill their aspirations, share their inspiration, and maintain their integrity.
